Active Directory
The Active Directory integration synchronizes computer assets and groups from your Active Directory (AD) environment into AIR over LDAP. Synchronized assets appear on the Assets page, where you can filter them by domain and Organizational Unit (OU).
Active Directory asset sync is configured per organization. Each organization has its own connection settings, its own synchronized assets and groups, and its own last sync time.
Where to Find It
Section titled “Where to Find It”Navigate to Integrations > Active Directory. The settings apply to the currently selected organization.
Configuration Fields
Section titled “Configuration Fields”| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable | Turns Active Directory asset sync on or off for the organization. |
| Secure Connection | Connects to the AD server over a secure (encrypted) LDAP connection. |
| Server | The address of the AD server, for example 10.0.0.1. |
| Domain | The AD domain to synchronize, for example company.local. |
| Username | The AD account used to read directory information. |
| Password | The password for the AD account. |
| Query | The LDAP filter used to select objects to synchronize, for example (&(objectCategory=computer)) to sync only computer objects. |
| OU | The Organizational Unit to synchronize from. |
Verify and Save
Section titled “Verify and Save”After filling in the fields, click Verify and Save. AIR verifies the connection to the AD server with the supplied settings and credentials, then saves the configuration for the organization.
Sync LDAP
Section titled “Sync LDAP”Click Sync LDAP to start a synchronization manually. AIR queries Active Directory using the configured query and OU and imports the matching assets and groups into the organization.
The last sync time shows when the most recent synchronization for the organization took place.
Disabling or Clearing the Sync
Section titled “Disabling or Clearing the Sync”Turning off LDAP / Active Directory login under Settings > Security does not affect this integration and does not delete synchronized assets.
Migration from Settings > Assets
Section titled “Migration from Settings > Assets”Active Directory asset sync was previously configured under Settings > Assets. If you had an Active Directory configuration there, a dismissible migration banner at that location points you to Integrations > Active Directory.
